Welcome to my home: Barcelona. The more I travel the more I realise how exceptional Barcelona is. A place I am always looking forward to come back to. What is it that makes Barcelona so amazing? For starters, we have sun and very nice weather the most time of the year. Barcelona is a super international city, very well connected to the rest of the world and always updated with the latest trends. The biggest plus, we have the sea!!! A city by the sea is just something once you try you can’t leave without. Let me show you why!

getting here

Arrive to Barcelona by plane from anywhere in Europe thanks to Vueling as here we have their main airplane base. There are also million flights from low cost airlines such as Easyjet, Ryanair… Barcelona’s port is famous for being the main departure point for top destination cruises on the mediterranean.

where to stay:

W Barcelona: In spring/summer season I would recommend you to stay in this hotel. The best reason is the pool with the best views to the Barceloneta beach. Also very close to the nightclubs, restaurants, great option for a group of friends looking to have a good time in the city.

Hotel Majestic: In the heart of Passeig de Gracia we find this classic hotel, beautifully renovated, ideal for shopping and being in the city center. Go to the rooftop bar for drinks and enjoy the city views!

Cotton House Hotel: Located in the city center, top new hotel, super cool and fashion and at the same time mantaining the top luxury service. Just so you have an idea Mark Zuckerberg stayed here last time he came to Barcelona.

Hotel Palace: Symbol of Barcelona’s luxury tradition in the heart of the city . Perfect if you like classic style elegance. After the whole hotel refurbishment and renovation they are now opening their rooftop terrace that I’m sure is going to be one of the city’s hotspots.

BeMate Apartments: If you are looking to rent an apartment this company will get you the coolest ones with the consierge service included so you feel just at home! They also have a free portable wifi device you can take around to the city. We know how important is to be have internet to upload our pics 😉

First thing you need to know: Passeig de Gracia is the main street. Here you will find a million things to do.  Walk up and down while shopping in the best stores, Santa Eulàlia and Rabat and visit the Gaudi buildings, Casa Batlló and La pedrera. You should also visit the famous Sagrada Familia and take a pic! 🙂

Walk around and get lost in the little streets of Born and the Barrio Gótico and feel the history of the old part of the city. Check out the Cathedral.

Barceloneta: I think I would need a whole post just for this area. Coming here is like taking holidays in the city. The most beautiful part of Barcelona by the port and the beach. Enjoy the walks, terraces and sun. If you want to get a different perspective, rent a boat with Charter and Dreams and fall in love the city from the sea.

I suggest you to take a day excursion off the city to explore the different villages next to Barcelona, for example Sitges, Llavaneras or Costa Brava. May you want to do it in style ( is there any other way? ), rent a cool car with Gevicar. You should use this getaway to do some shopping in La Roca Village, a luxury outlet store with the best brands!

Apart from all the sightseeing, eating, drinking, I recommend you to come with an empty suitcase to load on Zara clothes. You will find the widdest selection in the Passeig de Gracia store and you can also find gorgeous home decorations. Much cheaper than on other countries!

where to eat:

Probably my favourite chapter!! There are just so many great restaurants in Barcelona, I will just write my top ones that I always go to and so should you:

Can Solé: Number 1 on my list because this traditional seafood restaurant has the best quality food and top service you can find in Barcelona. Go here for an authentic paella experience that will be the highlight of your trip as well as all the seafood dishes. Let them recommend you with the day specials. Order the lobster paella and the artichokes with foie gras!

Tapas 24: The best tapas in the city by Passeig de Gracia. Order the Mc Foie burger and the sadwich with Jamón and Truffle!

Gorría: Traditional Classic restaurant, we could say is the Can Solé equivalent on the meat version. Order the steak, pan con tomate, Jamón… Everything here is delicious!

Bocagrande: Best place for dinner with friends on a night out. The best? Move to the floor upstairs after dinner to the bar Bocachica to enjoy the best cocktails! Order the elephant cocktail shots.

El Nacional: Multi space restaurant with the appearence of a market, you will find different specialised food areas: tapas, a cocktail bar, meat restaurant, oyster bar… Very instagrammy 😉

Parco: My sushi of choice in the city and one of the coolest restaurants for dinner and pre party. Order the hot makis!

La Dama: New opening in Barcelona, used to be one of the most classic elegant restaurants that now has been fully renovated to become the new IT place for dinner. Top food and cocktails and right next to the clubs Sutton and Bling.

Flax and Kale: For a healthy brunch book here. My favourite is the B-Caroteno pressed juice ( great for tanning as it has carrot-orange etc) and the tuna-beetrot avocado tartar. The coconut dessert is also worth trying!

La Fermata: If you get hungry while shopping around in Passeig de Gracia grab a slice of pizza here! The best the one with mozzarela, rocket and cherry tomatoes.

La Boqueria: The most famous market in Las Ramblas, walk inside and have a fresh juice !

One Ocean Club: Best terrace in the marina of the Barceloneta, come here for sunset cocktails and enjoy the views to the biggest boats in the city!

Ferran: If you want to take home some Spanish delicatessen, I recommend you to buy Jamón here, they will put it in small packages to take with you in the suitcase! Also try the best Sangría Ole! Cheers!

Something unique to do here in Barcelona is to visit the Camp Nou, FC Barcelona stadium! Even better if you find tickets to go to a football match: Bend in with the crowd, scream, shout and celebrate the goals! The best experience and show you will only find here!

Thank you for reading! See you around!
