Welcome back to my RoviTravel blog, after some days I haven’t been posting, I think is time for a comeback, and what best way to do it than sharing with you my favourite #RoviTips of the best city in the world: BARCELONA
I receive lots of emails asking about holidays in Spain, where the best parties are, where you should stay, where to go on your next vacation and Barcelona should be on top of your list this summer.
You can also check my previous post RoviTravel.com/Barcelona that I wrote when I started the blog 1 year ago!!!! Happy Birthday to all of us amigos, 1 year together and many more to come. However the city has evolved and so have we, so here is a newly updated WHATS HOT in the city right now!
Let’s start with the tour!
HOW TO GET HERE:
Well well amigos, the good news is every day we have more direct flights to the city, you can now easily fly from NYC, Miami, Moscow, Bogota, Tel Aviv, Mexico not yet ( hellooo Iberia today ), Istanbul, Dubai… So its easy for you to arrive!
Once in town I recommend you to use the app Cabify where you will have a private driver pick you up and drive you wherever you need to go. The service is top, they offer you water and WiFi and it’s comfortable black cars with AC, the best? Cheaper than the taxi and you know beforehand what the ride will cost and pay directly via app. Use the code MONR1 to get a free trip. You can use the code in different accounts ! 😉
WHERE TO STAY: COTTON HOUSE HOTEL
There is an infinite number of hotels in Barcelona but if I have to pick my favourite, cool, young, modern and also luxurious the Cotton House is my number 1 choice.
Located in the heart of Barcelona, you can walk around Passeig de Gracia, do your shopping, walk to the best city attractions.
There is a wonderful terrace full of plants and palm trees where you can have lunch, enjoy some cocktails and relax after a long day touring around Barcelona. To me one of the most instagrammy hotels, enjoy taking your pics 🙂
PLACES TO VISIT & INSTAGRAM
Barceloneta: The neighbourhood by the sea, enjoy a walk around the port and the sea views!
Gothic Quarter: Also known as the Old town, get lost in its little streets, discover the small boutiques and visit the Cathedral.
FC Barcelona Stadium: Go watch a Barça Match!
SHOPPING MADE IN BCN
Because we like to buy local things when we travel, here are my top picks in Barcelona that you must have:
Rosa Clará: The bridal and party dresses are perfect for the wedding season happening at the moment. How many times we ask ourselves, Where do I find a long dress to go to this wedding? Here is the answer! They have fabulous designs that I love and is one of my favourite brands that I trust for all my parties and events around the world! @rosa_clara
Marengo: New concept store in Barcelona where you will find the best home decorations. Do you you like big colourful necklaces, fancy candles or unique pieces to decorate your house? Do you want to bring someone a beautiful unique gift? This is then one stop you need to make! @marengobcn
Mesoestetic: Because in Barcelona we happen to have one of the best pharmaceutical laboratories in the world, you should try their skin care products. They have a long list of creams and treatments that will work wonders on your skin. The ones I use every night, and I tell you I can totally see the effect, are the Radiance DNA Eye Cream and Resurfacing Peel Booster. @mesoesteticpharmagroup
Lonbali: You must have seen these handbags on my pics cause I use them all the time, their fun colourful patterns and the fact that you can customise them with your initials, stickers etc makes it the perfect complement and also the perfect gift. @lonbali_official
Fernanda Fuschino: My latest artist discovery. She paints the most wonderful canvases, very colorful and fashion influenced. She made me a painting from a picture in Bali and every time I see it is like going back to paradise! Get yours on your next trip to Barcelona or you can always order online! @fernandafuschino
WHERE TO EAT:
Some new additions here and some classics that you can never miss during your visit!
Can Solé: All time favourite and first stop when you want to discover the real traditional mediterranean cuisine. Open since 1903 they offer the best paellas in Barcelona and freshest seafood. It is usual to meet celebrities here. Ideal for a long lunch with the family or friends and a walk around Barceloneta where its located. I recommend the lobster paella, the grilled tuna with tomato and the croquetas with foie and jamon!!
Sushi 99: New!: This famous restaurant original from Madrid has arrived to Barcelona. If you are a Zuma or Nobu fan, (as you know I am ! ) this is the closest version you will find in town. And in some cases even better I would say. Order the sashimi platter and the butterfish sushi. @99sushibar
Marea Alta: New! Located in one of the highest towers in Barceloneta with the best views of Barcelona, this is the new it place for dinner and the best is that there is also one floor for drinks. Perfect for a night out in the city! Order the steak tartar with caviar and the grilled monkfish! @mareaalta_bcn
