Costa Brava

Named after the wild nature and brave sea coast of which is characteristic, Costa Brava is a little Spanish paradise made up of little charming towns in the northern coast of Cataluña. I visited Costa Brava last weekend to celebrate the birthday of one of my best friends Carla, who invited us to her wonderful summer house and showed us around the top local places I’m going to tell you now to have perfect beach getaway. I also want to thank the top Swiss luxury swimwear brand Morning of March for giving me the most amazing bikinis to wear on this trip! Check it out girls they are fantastic!

HOW TO GET HERE:

You can easily arrive to Costa Brava driving from Barcelona, approximately one hour away, or you can fly directly to Girona airport and you are 20 minutes from most villages.

WHERE TO STAY:

My top three villages here I recommend depending what your plans are:
Platja d’Aro: The main town in Costa Brava with the most shops, restaurants and nightlife options!
Calella de Palafrugell: super cute small village seaside with many restaurants and a beautiful beach.
LLafranc: One of my favourites, very charming fishing village with a little port and the most fun nightlife.

WHAT TO DO:

Here is a place to relax, tan and enjoy the magnificent marine cuisine we have in this region!
Go get lost in a parsdise cave, one of the most gorgeous sceneries is Cala del Pi in Platja d’Aro! Really wonderful and you can take the best pics here 😉
Put on your trainers and get a glimpse of the villages at costa brava by walking across Cami de Ronda, a seaside walk which connects all of them! The sights are top!
If you want to go on an excursion to see the inner part of Costa Brava, the Empordà , you should visit a little town called Peratallada, an artistic monument village known for its beautiful old stone buildings!

WHERE TO EAT:

Xaco: The best Seafood restaurant in Platja d’Aro. Order the fried lobster with garlic! Simply amazing you have to try it.
Villa Mas: A beautiful seafront villa converted into a restaurant in Sagaró town. The sights are breathtaking and the food is also delicious! Order any fresh fish of the day made salt style!
Rocambolesc: This ice cream shop located in Platja d’Aro and owned by the number one pastry chef in the world Jordi Roca is a compulsory stop! I suggest you try the yoghourt icecream stuffed brioche with honey stone sesame toppings and coconut marshmallows.
Gitano: In Llafranc you cannot miss this place! The hotel llafranc famously known as Gitano (gypsy) is the most genuine fun party place you will find in Costa Brava. During the day is a seafront chilled hotel and at night its owner will dress up and dance dressed like rambo coyote ugly style on top of the bar as the hotel reception becomes a club with the best music and people in the area! The best summer nights !
TragaMar: From the famous tragaluz group (every restaurant they open is a success) you find this cool seafront restaurant in Calella village perfect for a lunch with a view experience! Order the tuna tataki mmm delicious!!

ROVITIPS:

Because some small bays are only accessed by sea, I suggest you rent a little boat and explore the remote coast! You will find the best unexplored caves!

Thank you for reading and see you in Costa Brava!!
Love,
Mon Rovi
