This week we are back in Ibiza and I want to recommend you my favourite hotel in the island and the place to be this summer: The Destino resort !
HOW TO GET HERE:
There are many direct flights to the island, specially from Barcelona. This time I flew with Vueling and I tried their new service ‘bring your flight forward’, what it means is that you can take an earlier flight free of cost. It applies to all Vueling flights. Amazing since there are so many flights and you can just change it at the airport from the Vueling app. The result, we arrived to Ibiza before planned 🙂 Rovitips amigos!
To go to the airport you know I am a big fan of Cabify, the private drivers app , use the code MONR1 and get your first trip for free.
WHERE TO STAY:
When you think of summer in Ibiza what comes to mind at first are parties, lots of people, craziness… However the Destino Resort is totally the opposite. Here you come to relax, to enjoy the wonderful pool while you tan and disconnect from the world.
Well, let me tell you, they also have some day parties on special days such as Flower Power! If you like open air pool parties then you will forsure enjoy them!
The resort is made up of little white houses, all decorated following the island style of ‘all white everything’ and are spread around the gardens. I stayed at the room 2919, located in the most tranquil area of the hotel, to move around the resort, there are buggy cars that will pick you up and take you where you want to go!
WHERE TO EAT:
Enjoying a day by the pool, what is better than having lunch on the sun beds? At Destino the food is delicious, and you have a wide range of healthy juices that is perfect to recover from a night out!
Start the day with an ‘After party’ cold pressed juice, with beetroot, ginger, lemon and get all the vitamins you need!
For lunch my favourites are the truffle burger (one of the best burgers you will try!) and the sushi. Best sushi is the Lady in Red with tuna ! Top top!
If you prefer to eat at the restaurant by the pool they also have amazing dishes, sushi, salads, fish, pasta.. and you can enjoy the views to Ibiza bay and Talamanca.
Outside the resort I would like to recommend you two places in ibiza;
Balafia: An Ibiza classic, a traditional meat restaurant with a beautiful outdoor patio. Order the lamb chops and the french fries together with a tomato salad from their own garden!
Tatel: With restaurants in Madrid and Miami, this is the new IT place in Ibiza, this party restaurant located at the Hard Rock hotel is perfect to go for dinner on a night out! As they say, not just fine dining but fun dining! The decoration is amazing and the music will put you in the right mood for a party night. I had the tuna tartar and what I recommend you the most is the smashed potato puree with truffle.
By staying at the Destino resort, since it is from the same Pacha Group you will immediately have access to the clubs Pacha and Lio Restaurant, who’s coming out tonight?
Ibiza is the number one destination for summer, however if you must go I recommend you to do so during the weekdays where it will be less crowded and there are the best parties in the island!
