Welcome to my new post about one of my favourite places in the world! DUBAIIII!
I like to say Dubai is the Disneyland for adults. A city made for pure entertainment. The most extravagant hotels, restaurants, attractions parks and beach resorts all made for us to enjoy the best this life has to offer.
Fly with Emirates, my airline of choice for long-haul flights based in Dubai is by far the most luxurious and comfortable, and not necessarily the most expensive. Fly direct from most European destinations with their a380 plane while you enjoy the WiFi onboard.
Where to stay:
I’m gonna give you 3 options on where to stay in Dubai.
First one being the downtown area, I like The Address Downtown hotel, because it’s in the city center and you can simply walk to the mall, watch the Dubai fountain show and stare at the beauty of the Burj Khalifa from the comfort of your room.
The other option is to stay at the Palm Jumeirah area, you will find there the most luxurious beach resorts perfect for relaxing and getting a tan. My favourite hotel: Waldorf Astoria. I remember the last time I stayed in this hotel for my friend Abba’s wedding – I love destination weddings, they are my favorite parties as they combine tradition, fun and a trip. An unsual thing happened to me when I ordered room service at the Waldorf. I commented to my attendant I was feeling a bit sick from all the celebrations when he was delivering my room service and without him saying anything, came back with a complimentary special Honey-Ginger tea he prepared himself so that I would feel better. This, ladies and gentleman, is what I call an excellent customer service, Bravo Waldorf Astoria.
Thirdly and my recently discovered hotel, theOne&Only Royal Mirage the perfect hotel for a romantic getaway. Decorated in the most pure Arabian opulent style, enjoy the fabulous pool and amazing views of the Dubai skyline at the beach.
What to do:
My first time in Dubai I was so excited at all the unimaginable things they built here that I wanted to experience them all. An island with a shape of a palm tree? To who on earth would it occur it to build a ski resort when the outside temperature is at 40ºC ? So after tanning at the beach I went to the Mall of the Emirates, put on a ski suit, and started to play with the penguins, literally.
Welcome to shopping heaven, anywhere, anytime, just go to the mall and look for any brand, you will find it. You can even buy gold from an ATM machine, what a nice souvenir, huh?
If you are feeling adventurous, take a tour on the safari desert and ride with camels or horses along the dunes!
If you fancy a little party there are many clubs, my favourite are Eden Beach Club and Blue Marlin by day time and Provocateur at night.
Where to eat:
Zuma: All time favourite. Order the soft shell crab!
Nasimi Beach: Have lunch on the sunbed while you tan: Spicy tuna sushi and Orange Carrot juice is a must. The views to the Atlantis hotel just behind the beach club are amazing and make for great pics!
Karam Beirut: Delicious Iranian food at the Mall of the Emirates, the best? Sit next to the glass window and enjoy the views to the ski slopes, almost like courchevel haha!
Pai Thai: You will arrive to the restaurant with a Gondola tour around the Madinat Jumeirah canals while enjoying a view to the Burj Al Arab hotel. Very Romantic!
Order In from Miyabi: I recently discovered the best sushi order in ever in the world and is here in Dubai, so when you feel like taking a chill night during your trip make sure to order sushi from Miyabi sushi and Bento.
Nusr-Et: I mean! If you get the chance you should go to Nusr and try to see Salt Bae! I met him in his restaurant in NYC and just to see him live with the meat its worth all the experience. By the way the food is also delicious! Try any of the recommended meats! Top top
Pay attention when booking your trip to Dubai because their weekend is on Friday and Saturday! So the best nights to go out are Thursday and Friday. On Saturdays you will find the best brunch parties during the day 🙂
Enjoy your holidays and Marhaba Dubai!
