If paradise exists, it must be something like Mauritius island. My favourite place on earth to relax, disconnect and tan.
I have been coming to Mauritius for 6 years with my family, we like to spend New Year’s here and escape the cold in Europe. After all there is nothing better than getting a tan in winter!
If you are looking for a relaxing holiday with your family or partner, this is definitely the place to go. Hello this is not a party place!
How to get here:
I used to travel from Paris direct to Mauritius airport with Air France, and you also have British Airways direct from London. Since I am flying from Barcelona I now always travel via Dubai with Emirates, I just love this airline. Super easy flight on the a380, two-floor plane with a bar and showers in the first class, so you can imagine, it’s a quite comfy way to move around the sky.
Where to stay:
LUX Le Morne Hotel. Because it’s simply amazing, I love the hotels where you feel unique, where they know you personally, that know what kind of tea you have for breakfast and bring it to you before you ask and know exactly how to make you feel on vacation. The hotel is made up of beach front villas that make you wish you could stay here forever!
What to do:
Do you really need anything else apart from relaxing, tanning and going to the spa? Well lucky for you there are many things to get you entertained! First of all, as a golf lover that I am, I always enjoy the beautiful courses the island has to offer. Water sports are an all time favorite so go enjoy the snorkel by the coral reef at the hotel beach and Kytesurf for the most adventurous!
What to eat:
Fruits, since you wake up till you go to sleep. Fruit – Eat- Repeat. My favourite are mangoes and fresh coconuts that I can drink at any time. You can also enjoy the fresh fish, here you will find the best tuna I ever had, yellowfin tuna and local lobster.
A life changing experience is swimming in the open ocean with wild dolphins. It’s the same level as scary and as rewarding when you see a herd of dolphins swimming towards you! So please if you come to Mauritius you need to do that. In the hotel they will arrange everything for you.
Thank you for reading my first post hope you enjoyed!
