Just the sound of the name is glamorous: P-O-R-T-O-F-I-N-O. Welcome to the magical Italian riviera, green trees and turquoise waters meet with the most exclusive people, boutiques and boats in the world. I visited this italian paradise thanks to the swimwear brand Turquese for the photoshoot of their new campaign collection. If you are looking for the most luxury elegant water wear for this summer, check them out! I guarantee you this brand is top top.
HOW TO GET HERE:
The easiest way to arrive to Portofino is to fly to Genoa airport, just 45km away from town. You have many flights with Ryanair from London, from Barcelona,I fly with Vueling my favourite airline when traveling around Europe. From the airport you can either take a taxi, or rent a car and enjoy the drive by the coast! Feels like a movie I tell you!
WHERE TO STAY:
Portofino is quite small and the hotels tend to be super full in summer for high season, so book in advance when planning to come here!
Belmond Splendido Mare: One of the most luxurious hotels in Portofino, I recommend this hotel because is situated in the heart of the harbor and you can just walk around the village and don’t need to worry about transport. You are on holidays!
WHAT TO DO:
I choose to see Portofino as spring/summer destination, so what I suggest you do in the morning is go to a Bagno ( Beach club) and get your tan, eat, relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the Italian Riviera while getting some tan beauty yourself 😉
Baia de Paraggi: One of my favourite shooting locations on the Turquese photoshoot . This bay is just wonderful! Book your sunbed, grab your bikini and take a swim here!
Boat Ride: Either you or your friends have one of the amazing boats in the marina or you can always rent a boat and sail around the coast! Many likes on Instagram from pics of the colourful harbor!
Walk: Hey – we also want to stay fit here! There is a 15 minute walk uphill in the Portifino bay that is totally worth doing. Great for taking pics along the way, the views on the marina are breathtaking. Once you reach the top, there is a cute little bar where you can sit here and enjoy an aperitivo. Spritz for everyone!
WHERE TO EAT:
Bagni Fiore: After chilling in your sunbed of this famous Bagno, I suggest you come here and have plate of spaghetti alle vongole the best combination of pasta and seafood you will find!
Caffè Excelsior: A classic of Portofino to have an apertivo and people watch! Order the camparosky cocktail!
Taverna del Marinaio: Situated in the main piazza on the harbor of Portofino. Best pesto ever, try the trofie al pesto you will thank me later!
Ristorante da i gemelli: A tiny restaurant famous for being run by twin brothers. Situated on the harbor, ideal to have lunch next to the fishermen’s boats and you enjoy the beautiful views on the marina. Order the fried calamari!
Once you are in Portofino, it is a great idea to visit the neighbouring villages. Go for a walk on the streets of Santa Margherita a super cute town right next door!
Graziee for reading! See you in Portofino!!
