Welcome to Mexico! And welcome back to summer! We are in paradise on earth; Tulum, probably the most IT place in the world right now. Declared world heritage by UNESCO you will discover that there is a magical energy surrounding Tulum. Legend has it that in Tulum is where the meteorite that extinguished the dinosaurs crashed!
HOW TO GET HERE
To arrive to Tulum first you will need to land in Cancun airport. Many airlines fly direct here. From Cancun airport to Tulum is about 2 h drive.
I recommend you take a taxi (since you will arrive tired from the plane etc) it will cost you about 110 dollars. You will find many private taxi companies just outside your luggage pickup.
Make sure you exchange dollars to pesos at the airport when you arrive since in Tulum mostly you will have to pay in cash.
The best beach chic boutique hotel. Upon arrival at the check in they offer you a margarita cocktail, is there a better way to start holidays? I don’t think so!!
Located directly on the beach surrounded by palm trees, La Zebra is a small family run hotel, offering a fun and elegant destination among Tulum hotels. The real Mexican culture and food will make you not want to leave the hotel!
I recommend you to stay in one of the two penthouse suites which are elevated, with a huge private terrace and much larger plunge pool. Enjoy the most fabulous views to the Caribbean while you sip a cocktail in your own private pool.
Wake up in the morning and enjoy a delicious fresh fruit granola ( I am obsessed with it) or some Mexican style huevos yummy! From there go straight to your hammock on the beach and just relax! Have a corona, swim in the turquoise waters and enjoy the sun!
For lunch you cannot miss the beef tacos! I wish I had tried them the first day but I only discovered them on the last. I would take a plane back to Mexico just to eat these tacos again. Probably the best I ever had in my life!
In the hotel there is also a spa where you can relax with a fantastic oil massage after a long beach day 🙂
In the evening you can just walk around the area, all the shops, restaurants are just at the door of the hotel Zebra.
Special thanks to Edu @elgypsetter for the fantastic hotel recommendation and all the tulum insider tips!
